Downhill/Bike Park

• Do I need protective equipment? What body armor/protection do you offer for rent?

  Yes, protective gear is strongly recommended in the bike park. We provide a complimentary full face helmet and you can add body armor to your rental. We offer knee-shin pads, elbow pads, and chest protectors. We do not offer goggles or gloves for rent, however we have options available for purchase in store, and would recommend wearing these in the bike park.

• What clothes should I wear to ride in the Bike Park?

  Sports clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty and that wicks sweat. We recommend bike specific clothing that will not rip or tear.

• What is the difference between the Enduro/Bike Park bike and the Downhill/Bike Park bikes?

  Enduro bikes are built to be capable of pedaling uphill, while still being fun to ride down rough terrain. Our Enduro bikes (Devinci Spartan) have a carbon frame, 12-speed cassette, dropper-post, and 170/160 mm of travel, so you can equally enjoy the single-track in the valley and the trails in the Whistler Bike Park. The Downhill/Bike Park options (Devinci Wilson and Devinci Chainsaw) are built with maximum fun on the downhill in mind and are not suitable for pedaling uphill. These Downhill bikes have an aluminium frame, 7-speed cassette, no dropper post, and more suspension than the Enduro bikes. More detailed specifications are available for each bike on their respective information pages.

• What is the difference between the two Downhill/Bike Park options?

  Both are similar downhill bikes designed for gravity fed riding and with a mullet setup.

  The Marin Quake is a brand new bike for 2025 and boasts slightly higher specification components than the Devinci Chainsaw, which has a redesigned 2025 frame but components from 2024.

• What pedal options are available?

  We offer flat (Deity Black Kat) or SPD pedals, or you are welcome to bring your own.

• What shoes should I wear to ride in the Bike Park?

  Closed-toe, flat-soled shoes for protection and grip on pedals.

• What size bike should I get?

  Please refer to the size chart that is listed on the information page for each bike. If you are an inexperienced rider between sizes, you may want to choose the smaller size option, as it will be easier to handle and maneuver on the trails.

E-Cruiser

• Do I have to wear a helmet?

  In BC you are required to wear a helmet when riding a bike and you can be fined for not wearing one. It is mandatory to wear a full face helmet in the Bike Park. We provide complimentary helmets with all of our rentals.

• Do you have baskets/phone holders on your recreational bikes?

  No, unfortunately we do not offer baskets/phone holders on our bikes. Our recreational bikes do come with a bottle cage for water bottles. We recommended bringing a small backpack if you are planning on carrying anything else with you on your bike ride.

• Do I have to pedal?

  Yes, our E-Bikes provide a fun and lively pedal assist to help you climb hills and cover longer distances. The bike is not motorized if you stop pedaling.

• How fast can e-bikes travel?

  E-Bikes have an upper limit of 32kmph.

• What is the Valley Trail?

  The Valley Trail is a network of shared, paved pedestrian and cycle paths throughout the Whistler valley. The network connects the Village, Upper Village, residential areas, parks and lakes.

• Where are the best routes and places to bike to in Whistler?

  We have some great route recommendations for our Valley Trail or E-Bikes. See our Suggested Routes page for interactive maps.

Kids’ Bikes

• Do you have training wheels for the kids’ bikes?

  Yes, we have training wheels available that can be used with the 16″ kids’ bikes.

• Does the kids’ Enduro bike have a dropper post?

  No, unfortunately our kids’ enduro bike does not come with a dropper post. If you are primarily riding the Whistler Bike Park, we would recommend leaving the seat in the lowest position possible, as you will not need to pedal up-hill. If you are riding the single track in the valley, we can adjust the seat height so that it is the correct height for pedaling.

• How tall does my child need to be to rent a bike?

  We have kids’ bikes for children who are 3’9″ or 114cm or taller. For smaller children we offer trailer rentals.

• What brakes are on the kids’ recreational bikes?

  Our 20″ and 24″ kids’ bikes have front and rear disc brakes. Our 16″ kids’ bike has lever-operated rim brakes.

• Where can we take the kids’ Enduro bikes?

  Our kids’ Enduro bikes (Marin Rift Zone Jr) can be taken anywhere! They have front and rear suspension and all the specs to make them suitable for the Whistler Bike Park or on Whistler’s single track trails.

• Where can we take the recreational kids’ bikes?

  Our Kids’ Recreational Hardtail Bikes have front suspension and high volume tires making them great on the paved and crushed gravel trails. Unfortunately, our kids’ bikes are not suitable for use in the Whistler Bike Park or any more technical single track.

Trailers

• Can I carry my pet in a trailer?

  Unfortunately, our trailers are not suitable for pets. Please return the trailer clean and be considerate of future customers who may also suffer from allergies.

• Can I use the trailer with an e-cruiser bike?

  No, unfortunately our trailers are not compatible with the axle on our e-cruisers are are therefore not able to be used with these bikes. Trailers can only be used with our recreational hardtails, or can be attached to your own bike, as long as the axle is compatible.

• How many children can fit in the trailer?

  There are seatbelt configurations to accommodate either one or two children in our trailers.

• How tall does my child need to be to rent a bike?

  We have kids’ bikes for children who are 3’9″ or 114cm or taller. For smaller children we offer trailer rentals.

• Is there a weight limit for the kids trailer?

  Yes, our trailers have a maximum weight limit of 45 kg/100 lbs in total.

E-Cruiser

• Do I have to pedal?

Trail

• Are trail bikes allowed in the Whistler Bike Park?

  No. We do not permit our Trail bikes for use in the Whistler Bike Park due to the increased wear on components and risk of damage. They are reserved for customers looking to ride the singletrack trails. Please rent one of our Downhill or Enduro bikes for use in the Whistler Bike Park.

• What pedal options are available?

  We offer flat (Deity Black Kat) or SPD pedals, or you are welcome to bring your own.

• What size bike should I get?

• Where is the best place to trail ride in Whistler?

  Whistler is home to a huge network of trail riding. Our local team can advise on the best routes to match your riding ability and fitness levels.

Enduro/Bike Park

• Can I use your Enduro bike in the Whistler Bike Park?

  Yes, our Enduro bike the Devinci Spartan GX Carbon is suitable for use in the Whistler Bike Park and for pedaling up to the trails outside the Bike Park.

• Does the kids’ Enduro bike have a dropper post?

  Yes, our kids’ enduro bikes come with a hydraulic dropper post!

• What is the difference between the Enduro/Bike Park bike and the Downhill/Bike Park bikes?

  Enduro bikes are well equipped to equally enjoy the single-track track climbs and descents in the valley as well as the downhill trails in the Whistler Bike Park. The Downhill/Bike Park options are built with maximum fun on the downhill in mind, with more suspension and slacker geometry but are not suitable for pedaling uphill. More detailed specifications are available for each bike on their respective information pages.

• What pedal options are available?

• What size bike should I get?

E-MTB

• Can I take an E-MTB into the Whistler Bike Park?

  No, our E-MTB’s are only for use on the single-track trails around the Whistler valley. Although Whistler Bike Park allows e-bikes in the park, we do not permit our rental E-MTB’s in the bike park due to the increased wear and risk of damage to the bikes.

• How long does the battery last on the E-MTB?

  Our E-MTB’s come with a fully charged 504 Wh battery. Battery life depends on what level of assistance you are riding in (ie. Eco, Trail, or Boost) and how much elevation gain/loss you are riding, among other factors. However, you should typically be able to do a day of moderate mountain biking without running out of battery. If you are renting for multiple days, we are able to lend you a battery charger so you can charge your bikes overnight at your accommodation.

• What size bike should I get?

  Please refer to the size chart that is listed on the information page for each bike. If you are an inexperienced rider between sizes, you may want to choose the smaller size option, as it will be easier to handle and maneuver on the trails.

• Where are E-MTB allowed?

  E-MTB are allowed on most mountain bike trails in Whistler. However, Mount Sproatt and Rainbow Mountain alpine trails (anything above Flank: Lord of the Squirrels, Into the Mystic, With a Twist, On the Rocks, Happy Hour, Pot of Gold, LESS & Don’t Look Back), are two examples where e-bikes aren’t allowed. This restriction supports environmental considerations, user safety and grizzly bear management in the alpine terrain. E-bikes are also not allowed in the Emerald Forest Conservation Area. Although Whistler Bike Park allows e-bikes in the park, we do not permit our rental E-MTB’s in the bike park due to the increased wear and risk of damage to the bikes.

   

Recreational Hardtail

• Do I have to wear a helmet?

  In BC you are required to wear a helmet when riding a bike and you can be fined for not wearing one. It is mandatory to wear a full face helmet in the Bike Park. We provide complimentary helmets with all of our rentals.

• Do you have baskets/phone holders on your recreational bikes?

  No, unfortunately we do not offer baskets/phone holders on our bikes. Our recreational bikes do come with a bottle cage for water bottles. We recommended bringing a small backpack if you are planning on carrying anything else with you on your bike ride.

• Do you offer road bikes?

  No, unfortunately we do not offer road bikes. However, our recreational hardtail and e-cruiser bikes are suitable for sightseeing around the Valley Trail.

• Do you offer tandem bikes?

  No, unfortunately we do not offer tandem bikes.

• How far can I go in 2 hours on a Valley Trail bike?

  The most popular 2 hour routes are to Lost Lake park, where you can explore some of the green crushed gravel trails, or down to Lakeside and Alpha Lake parks on the valley trail.
