Gore Creek Bike Path, Lionshead to East Vail

The Gore Creek/Gore Valley Path is an easy paved bike path that runs alongside gore creek, easily accessible from our Lionshead shop. It weaves along the creek through lionshead before continuing towards Vail Village, offering a tranquil alternative to street travel and excellent access to the creek-favorite spot for fishing and rock skipping. This stretch through town called Gore Creek Path, is about 2 miles and connects Lionshead and Vail Village along a paved, way walk-or-bike route. From the Village, the trail extends east, weaving through the base of the ski mountain towards east Vail. A highlight is the stretch just beyond the Vail Golf Course clubhouse, where riders encounter vibrant-red sandstone cliffs while following Gore Creek, and local beaver ponds-an easy ride through bloom-filled meadows and aspen groves.

Gore Creek Bike Path, Lionshead to Avon

From Lionshead, follow Gore Creek west through Cascade Village, then continues to Dowd Junction, where it links up with the Eagle Valley Trail for the final stretch into Avon. Follows Gore Creek, through Lionshead and continues into West-Vail, with the trail offering excellent access to the river. Take the path all the way into Avon where you will find some great lunch spots and parks for the kids.

Mountain Bike Adventure

Grand Traverse

Grand Traverse is Vail Mountain’s signature bike trail. Starts just south of the Eagle Bahn Gondola (Eagle’s Nest), Access via bike haul. Roughly 8 miles, weaving through Game Creek and Sun Down Bowls with sections of green forest and wide-open singletrack. Stunning views of the Sawatch Range and Mount of the Holy Cross. Riders also get views of the Gore Range and the World famous Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin.
